Sus Hi Eatstation vs PokeWorks: An Honest Breakdown

We get asked this a lot. Usually at the counter, usually by someone holding their phone with two tabs open. "Okay but what's the difference between you guys and PokeWorks?"

Fair question. Both are build-your-own. Both have bowls. Both are fast-casual. So let's actually talk about it — and yeah, we're biased, but we'll be straight with you.

The Big One: We're Not Just a Poke Shop

PokeWorks does poke. That's the whole concept, and they do it well — raw fish, rice, toppings, done.

We started as a build-your-own sushi place in 2011 across the street from UCF, and the menu kind of... exploded from there. Yes, we have Poke Bowls (the Master Ro and the Two Punch are legit). But we also have sushi burritos, rolls and hand rolls, chilled noodle bowls, and Mac & Cheese Crunch Burritos.

That last one isn't a typo. Steak, mac and cheese, crunch, wrapped in a burrito. If you haven't had it yet, I don't know what to tell you.

So when does that matter?

When you're eating with a group. That's when. Your friend who doesn't do raw fish can grab a Kickin' Chicken Burrito. The vegan in the group gets the Hi-Ya! Waska Bowl or Livin' on the Veg. Someone else wants Krab Rangoons and Truffle Rice Tots. Everyone's happy, one order.

Heat Levels: We Go Harder

Honestly this is where the Sus Hi Eatstation vs PokeWorks comparison stops being close for me. We lean into spice hard. The Lit Bowl, the Boom Boom Shrimp Bowl, the Party in My Mouth Bowl (still underrated, still my go-to), the Flamin' Hot–style burritos that blew up online.

We also flame-torch proteins. There's a char on our salmon and steak that you just don't get from a standard poke setup.

Hours, and Why They Matter

  • Select Dojos are open until 2AM. That's huge if you're near UCF or USF.
  • 7 locations across Orlando and Tampa — UCF, Altamonte Springs, Lake Nona, Millenia, Colonial, Chickasaw, Tampa/USF
  • Digital ordering does 58%+ of our sales, so the app actually works well (rewards points included)

Most poke spots close at 9. We've fed a lot of people at 1:47am and we're okay with that.

How to Actually Pick

Go with poke-only if:

You want clean, simple raw fish over rice and that's exactly it. Nothing wrong with that.

Come to a Dojo if:

You want options. You want heat. You want a sushi burrito you can eat walking to class. You want cooked options next to raw ones. You want beignets or Ube Cheesecake after. Or you're hungry at midnight.

The Part Nobody Mentions

We're not a chain that landed here. Robert and Teresa built this from family sushi parties — three years of testing before opening. Teresa's family has run Saigon Market in Orlando for 30+ years. Robert was running a restaurant at 16.

Bowls and burritos became our #1 sellers by accident, because customers told us what they wanted. That's still kind of how we operate.

Look — order from both. Compare for yourself. But if you're picking tonight, build something ridiculous at your nearest Dojo and put extra sauce on it. Order at order.incentivio.com/c/sushieatstation or grab the app and start stacking points. See you at the counter.
