So You Found a Ninja Themed Restaurant in Orlando. Now What?

People find us by accident all the time. They're driving down East Colonial, they see the word "Dojo," they see ninjas on the wall, and they go — wait, what is this?

Fair question. So let's answer it properly, because if you're searching for a ninja themed restaurant Orlando actually locals eat at, you're about to stand in front of a build-your-own sushi line and you'll want a plan.

First: the vocabulary. It's not a gimmick, we just talk like this.

Our restaurants are Dojos. Our team members are Ninjas. Managers are Senseis. Our founders, Robert and Teresa, go by Grandmaster Funly and Grandmaster Miso Eel — and yes, that's on the wall.

We've been doing this since August 29, 2011, when the first Dojo opened across the street from UCF. Fourteen years later we've got seven of them. So when a Ninja greets you at the register, just roll with it. It's fun. That's the whole point.

How the line actually works

It's Chipotle-style, but sushi. You go down the line and build it:

  • Pick your base — bowl, burrito, chilled noodle bowl, poke bowl, or a roll
  • Pick your protein — chicken, steak, shrimp tempura, krab, tofu, or raw tuna/salmon if you're going that route
  • Load your toppings — cucumber, avocado, mango, kimchi, jalapeño, crunchy bits, all of it
  • Sauce it — this is where people underthink it. Don't. Our house sauces are the difference between good and "why is this gone already"

If you freeze up, order one of these

Totally normal to panic on your first visit. Skip the build and grab a signature:

  • Steak Mac & Cheese Crunch Burrito — mac and cheese inside a sushi burrito. It shouldn't work. It absolutely works. If you haven't had it, what are you even doing?
  • Boom Boom Shrimp Bowl — safest great order on the menu, no raw fish
  • Party in My Mouth Bowl — honestly the most underrated thing we make
  • Hi-Ya! Waska Bowl — fully vegan and not an afterthought

Add Krab Rangoons or Truffle Rice Tots. Non-negotiable in my opinion.

How we're different from the other sushi spots

Traditional sushi restaurants are great — but you're sitting down, you're spending $40, you're waiting. Poke places give you a bowl and that's it. We do bowls and burritos and rolls and mac and cheese fusion stuff nobody else is making.

Also — and this matters more than you'd think — select Dojos are open until 2AM. Ask anyone who's gone to UCF or USF. A ninja themed restaurant Orlando students can hit at 1:30 in the morning is a genuine public service.

Practical tips before you go

  • Order ahead online — over half our sales are digital, and it's faster
  • Download the rewards app (iOS and Android). Free points on food you were buying anyway
  • Fundraising for a team or school? Ask about our Partial Proceeds Program — it's all digital, no paper receipts
  • Bowls are our #1 seller. Burritos were the surprise hit. Neither was the original plan

Come find your nearest Dojo — UCF, Altamonte, Lake Nona, Millenia, Colonial, Chickasaw, or Tampa near USF. Tell the Ninja behind the counter it's your first time. They'll hook you up. #SusHi
