Where to Find the Best Sushi Bowls in Orlando (Our Take)
· By the Sus Hi Team
Okay, we're biased. Obviously. We've been building sushi bowls in Orlando since August 29, 2011, back when the only Dojo we had was a little spot across the street from UCF and nobody knew what "build your own sushi" even meant.
But here's the thing — bowls weren't even supposed to be the star. Robert and Teresa opened that first Dojo expecting rolls to carry the whole thing. Then bowls and burritos took over immediately and never gave the crown back. Fourteen years later, bowls are still our #1 seller. Every single day.
Six Dojos, One City, Zero Excuses
If you live in Orlando, you're probably ten minutes from one of us. Seriously:
- UCF Dojo — the original. Open until 2AM at select Dojos, and yes, this one's the reason a lot of students survived finals week.
- Millenia Dojo — right off Millennia Blvd, perfect post-mall-damage meal.
- Lake Nona Dojo — Medical City crowd, we see you on lunch break.
- Colonial Dojo (50D) — East Colonial Dr, smack in the middle of everything.
- Chickasaw Dojo — Chickasaw Trail, our quiet neighborhood favorite.
- Altamonte Springs Dojo — north side, holding it down since 2016.
(And if you're up in Tampa near USF, we've got you too.)
So What Actually Makes a Great Sushi Bowl?
Three things. Fresh protein, real sauce, and control. That last one is the whole reason we exist. You pick your base, your protein, your toppings, your sauce. Small, Regular, or Large. Nobody's handing you a pre-made tray of someone else's idea of lunch.
We flame-torch proteins to order. Our sauces are house-made. And if you want to put kimchi, crispy onions, and three kinds of spicy mayo in one bowl — go ahead, chef. That's the point.
Our Honest Rankings
Party in My Mouth Bowl. The most underrated thing on our menu. I'll die on this hill. Spicy, loaded, chaotic in the best way.
Boom Boom Shrimp Bowl. If you only get one bowl ever, make it this one. That sauce is dangerous.
Crazy Rich Salmon Bowl. Raw salmon lovers, this is your lane. Clean, rich, a little heat.
Lit Bowl. Spicy and raw. Not for beginners. We respect anyone who orders it before noon.
Hi-Ya! Waska Bowl. Fully vegan and genuinely good — not "good for a vegan option." Just good.
The Real Reason People Keep Coming Back
Price-to-portion. A Regular bowl stacked with everything you want still costs less than most sit-down sushi apps. And the search for the best sushi bowls in Orlando usually ends the second someone sees how much food fits in a Large.
Also — we're fast. Like, actually fast. Digital ordering is over half our business now, so you can build your bowl on your phone, walk in, grab it, and leave. No waiting around.
