The Asian Fusion Restaurant Orlando Actually Needed

Orlando has no shortage of sushi spots. We know. We've eaten at most of them (research, obviously). But there's a difference between a sushi restaurant and an Asian fusion restaurant Orlando people actually drive across town for at 11pm on a Tuesday.

That's the lane we've been in since August 29, 2011.

Six Dojos, One City, Zero Excuses

We started with one spot right across from UCF on Alafaya. That's the original Dojo. Then we kept going — Altamonte Springs in 2016, Lake Nona and Millenia in 2018, Colonial (we call it 50D) in 2019, Chickasaw later that same year.

So depending on where you are:

  • UCF area? You already know. Our original Dojo, open till 2AM at select locations, which has saved more study sessions than I can count.
  • Shopping at Millenia Mall? We're right off Millennia Blvd. Skip the food court. Please.
  • Lake Nona / Medical City? We're there, and we're the thing people order when they're tired of the same five lunch spots.
  • East Colonial or Chickasaw Trail? Yep and yep.

What Makes It Fusion (And Not Just Sushi)

Here's the thing — traditional sushi is beautiful and we respect it deeply. But we grew up differently. Robert grew up working in his parents' Chinese buffet from age 8. Teresa's family has run Saigon Market on Colonial for over 30 years. Asian fusion isn't a marketing angle for us, it's literally how we ate at home.

Which is how you end up with a Mac & Cheese Crunch Burrito on a sushi menu. Steak, mac and cheese, crunch, wrapped up like a burrito. Is it traditional? Absolutely not. Is it one of the best things on our menu? I will fight about this.

Stuff I personally push on people

  • Party in My Mouth Bowl — genuinely underrated. Spicy, layered, never boring.
  • Fry Me a River Burrito — the crunch-to-sauce ratio is perfect.
  • Boom Boom Shrimp Bowl — order it once and you'll stop reading the rest of the menu.
  • Truffle Rice Tots — not sushi. Don't care. Get them.

And if you want to go full traditional, the poke bowls and hand rolls are right there. Master Ro Poke Bowl, Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, Cali Roll — all of it.

Build It However You Want

Bowls and burritos are our top sellers, which honestly surprised us at first. We thought rolls would lead. Nope. Turns out people love picking their own base, protein, toppings, and sauce and walking out in under five minutes.

Vegan? The Hi-Ya! Waska Bowl and Livin' on the Veg roll are legit, not afterthoughts. Bringing kids? Fun Box exists for a reason.

Why Locals Keep Coming Back

Fast-casual sushi barely exists — only about 6% of US restaurants serve sushi at all. So finding an Asian fusion restaurant Orlando can rely on for a quick lunch, a late-night bowl, or a full group order is rarer than it should be. We built the whole thing around being fast without being forgettable.

Plus 58% of our orders come through digital now, so grabbing food takes about as long as picking a playlist.
